Adventure Tour -15 Days - £ 4000 (PP) Including flights ticket
The towering peaks and mountains of Sri Lanka, as well as the rocky terrain, trekking paths, wild rivers, high waterfalls, and vast, golden beaches, provide for an exciting and energetic vacation for any adventure seeker. This trip starts with a stay at a riverside camp near Kitulgala, which is known for white-water rafting as well as other high-adrenaline sports like canyoning (rock sliding), kayaking, and abseiling. On to the Knuckles Mountain Range, where you can focus on jungle hiking and hill walking to take in the breathtaking scenery and birdlife.
Then you move to Sigiriya, which is located in the famous Cultural Triangle and offers a variety of activities such as climbing Pidurangala Rock at daybreak and cycling around the ancient remains of Polonnaruwa. You then travel to Wilpattu National Park in the north-west for a true safari experience, staying in tented accommodation and possibly seeing leopard! The tour concludes in Kalpitiya, where you can take a whale and dolphin watching boat cruise (Dec-Apr), go kitesurfing (May-Oct), or participate in other activities such as wind surfing, water skiing, yoga, and snorkelling.
We believe this is an itinerary that can be enjoyed all year, giving you a lot of flexibility with your vacation dates.

2 nights Knuckles Mountain Range | Knuckles Plantation Bungalow | The Knuckles Mountain Range, east of Kandy, dominates the panoramas due to its five peaks' apparent similarity to the knuckles of a clinched fist. The hills here are some of the most untamed and unspoiled in Sri Lanka, with vast, mainly unknown trekking and wildlife-spotting opportunities, and are surrounded by numerous tea farms. It's a stunning area to explore on foot, with tremendous biodiversity and a diverse range of vegetation. The topography spans from riverine to montane forests, savannah grasslands, and semi-evergreen woodlands, making it ideal for trekkers. The southern edge of the Knuckles Mountain Range leads to the Mahaweli River (the country's largest) and the Victoria Reservoir with its massive dam, which currently provides a considerable portion of Sri Lanka's power. Views of the land that Sri Lanka's first people, called Veddhas, used to live on can be seen here. |
3 nights Sigiriya/Dambulla | Pinthaliya Resort & Spa | Sigiriya: The ruins of Sigiriya, an ancient city, sit atop a massive flat-topped rock that towers 180 metres above the jungle on all sides. A closer look reveals pleasure gardens, gigantic lion's feet chiselled out of stone on one side, and staircases leading to the remains of a palace. It's not just a rare archaeological site but also a magnificent natural structure with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Temples in Dambulla Caves: This site has been a sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries and is without a doubt Sri Lanka's best preserved and largest cave temple, with five sanctuaries. It is a wonderful example of Sri Lankan religious art, with incredible Buddhist mural paintings and over 150 Buddhist statues. |
2 nights Wilpattu National Park | Ceylon Resort Wilpattu | Wilpattu National Park, located to the west of Anuradhapura, is Sri Lanka's largest national park. It was closed for many years due to its proximity to the fighting lines during the civil war, but the magnificent 1085-square-kilometer park reopened in 2009. As you can see, conservation was not high on the priority list, hence wildlife density remains low in comparison to places like Yala and Uda Walawe. However, due to its small size and low tourist numbers, it is significantly more serene than other national parks in Sri Lanka, and it still has a diverse range of flora and animals to enjoy, including the elusive leopard, sloth bear, sambar deer, rare birds, and elephants. |
3 nights Kalpitiya Beach | De Silve Palm Resort | Kalpitiya is a low-key, undeveloped coastal peninsula in the west of Sri Lanka. Many of its picturesque beaches are surrounded on one side by the sea and on the other by lagoons. The area is rich in natural diversity, with everything from bar reefs to flat coastal plains, saltpans to mangroves. To top it all off, this stretch of coast is a favourite among various species of dolphin and whale, as well as a kitesurfing hotspot. Kalpitya makes an excellent first or last stop in Sri Lanka due to its proximity to Colombo's international airport. It's also ideal for people seeking tiny, low-key accommodations. |
